The Tampa Bay Business Journal reports that the BayWalk retail/entertainment complex in Downtown St. Petersburg will go on the auction block Feb. 13. A Pinellas County circuit court judge ruled on the property’s foreclosure Tuesday, with Wells Fargo Bank holding a $14.5-million note.
As you may recall reading here earlier, BayWalk was intended to spark a revival or St. Pete’s urban core at the start of a new century. Now it needs to make a comeback of its own, under new ownership and management. Good luck to whoever gets it next.
